Silvie Mechová
Silvie Mechová - Hönigová studied flute at the Conservatory of Pardubice under Mgr. Jaromír Hönig. She finished her studies by giving a graduate’s concert where she performed as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Pardubice in the solo part of Mozart's Concerto in G major. She continued her studies at JAMU in Brno under Prof. Arnošt Bourek.
During her studies she participated in many competitions where she won various awards (3rd prize in the Amati Kraslice competition, 2nd prize in the competition of conservatories, 1st prize in the Mozart chamber music competition in Prague). In 1991 she was a member of the international Yehudi Menuhin orchestra in France. S. Mechová has completed a range of masterclasses at home and abroad (Austria).
She currently teaches flute at the Conservatory of Pardubice. She also gives concerts regularly. As a chamber musician she has performed in various European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Holland and others). She is a member of the Hönig Family Quartet chamber ensemble, with whom she has recorded a CD. She has cooperated several times with Czech Radio (she has recorded Variations for Flute and Piano by Otmar Mácha) and Czech Television.
Together with Jindřich Macek she works on the projects "Wandering through the Landscape of Music", "Flute and Lute Across Musical Eras", "Flauto dolce" and "Advent Musical Contemplation".
