Iveta Novotná
She studied classical guitar at the Conservatory in Pardubice, where she graduated under Prof. Stanislav Juřica. Having graduated in 2002, she continued her studies at the University of Arts in Vienna under Prof. Alexander Swete and Prof. Alvaro Pierri. Since 2007 she has been teaching classical guitar at the Art School in Skuteč.
She cooperates in musical ventures and gives literary and musical evenings with young artists dedicated to poetry, prose and journalism. She performs solo, organizes educational concerts for primary schools, primary special schools, children’s homes and other social facilities.
Her repertoire consists of solo guitar compositions and songs composed from 16th to 20th century - such as Sephardic and Renaissance songs, self-accompanied folk and art songs and songs by 19th and 20th century composers (F. M. Kníže, J. Rodrigo, B. Britten, etc.).
Together with Jindřich Macek she works on the project Strings through the ages.
