Alfred Strejček
He studied acting at the Janáček Academy in Brno and has performed at a number of theatres in and outside Prague. He has played in the E.F. Burian Theatre, the Theatre beyond the Gate under Otomar Krejča, at the State Theatre in Brno, the Jiří Wolker Theatre in Prague and the O. Stibor Theatre in Olomouc. He is one of the top performers of poetry and prose and a multiple winner of competitions for professional artists in artistic recitation. He also recites in Latin, English, German and Spanish. He has had a number of film and television roles – in the films The Three Golden Hairs of Grandfather Vševěd and Jesenius the Actor’s Wonderful Friendships, in the television plays Josephine, The Fateful Game of Love, Death and the Blessed Lady, etc. He is a popular performer of melodramatic works. He works with our major orchestras and soloists – the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Janacek Quartet, Musica Bohemica, Barock Jazz Q, the Czech Radio Big Band, Josef Suk, Štěpán Rak, Václav Hudeček, Jiří Hlaváč, Miroslav Petráš, Ivan Ženatý, Jaroslav Svěcený and others. His voice has been inscribed on the subconscious of radio and television audiences. He is the winner of the UNESCO prize for the Vivat Comenius concert project, in which he performed together with Štěpán Rak at over six hundred concerts in thirty countries on four continents.
